Tag am It

Went for marathon training yesterday at west coast, well everything started fine then came the pour down from heaven. Manage to finish 1 big round there before heading to NUS to shower. The point was when i reached NUS, i must say everywhere i go need to pay carpark fees and there was no sheltered walkway from the carpark to the sport center. The amazing thing was that there's actually cleaners cleaning the shower room on SATURDAY. And everyone were waiting for the cleaners to finish their cleaning which took forever.

Ok anyway manage to shower somewhere in one of the hall, with the help of one friend. And it was not the last of it, had lunch at the new Arts canteen. After lunch went to the carpark to get out of NUS and to my surprise the parking fee was about $5 bucks when my friend only parked there for about 45mins. What a good way to earn easy money from students there.

Yesterday was really a packed program for me, later met up with secondary school friend and lastly cell group at night. Anyway why ben do you have to tag me now i have to write something about me -_-'''. Usually i would use my 3g phone to check if my hair is messy and i try to do it without people knowing it

Ok actually i took part in kendo before and won a competition before but due to some reason i retired from the martial art world.

If u all dun know i can actually finish a whole cadbury chocolate bar(the big one) in a night and i loves chocolate related food.

Have to say dun really know how to start one.....hahahaha anyway dun know la someday i would know

5) I collect cards

Ya i collect post card or greeting card that people sent me. I still got cards from my sec school friends lor.

6) I'm afraid of lizard and cockroaches

These pests make my hair stand if i see them in my house. Normally i would ask my mum to get rid of them........-_-'''

7) I'm quite a self conscious person

It's regarding no. 6 although am afraid of lizard and cockroaches but if my friends or girls around i would put up a brave front, so that people would really know am afraid of that.

8) I started wearing lens to remove my tan lines

Actually i started wearing contact lens because of the tan line on my sideburn that i would have when i was in army. Now am used to wearing it, anyway my spec looks ugly too.

9) I love to do window shopping

Hahaha dun belive rite. Anyway love going to the sport shop to look out for lastest sport t-shirt or shoes. Normally would go afew places to check the price difference but i still wont buy if i needed it badly.

10) I took part in marathon to challenge myself

Did u know that i took part in this year Standard Chartered Marathon because i wanted to prove that i can do it. And also because of the word that would be on my back "finisher of 42.195KM".

Marriage Oversea

Dont get it wrong not writing about me, well i came back today from my cousin's wedding at johor bahru on saturday. Am sure i have been going to weddings recently, i guess must be the recently sermon on marriage that's why marriages have been poping out in the family(joking only).

Went into malaysia at 11am, althought there was not traffic jam on the causeway but the custom was packed with million of people queueing up the get their passport stamped. I must said that the malaysian custom sucks big time there no standard queueing lane, people was cut queue like nobody's bussiness. Especially people of surname tiong(ask NTU student about the surname) no lane discipline, try to cut queue whenever there's a chance.

Alright spent like 1hour plus to finish getting that stamp but the nightmare was not over. Had to called my cousins in johor to pick me up, guess what forgot the add the plus sign(+) in front of their house number. Spent like haft a hour trying to contact them, well need to thank God that there was a nice malaysian lady who told my mom about the telephone system in malaysia.

Hahaha it was like going on a holiday stayed in a hotel which my cousin booked. Had a good rest before the dinner starts, by the way the hotel have their pools and gym(didnt waste the facilities there). Dinner was great but seeing my cousin finally settled down with his wife was better. Well one more ang pao on chinese new year. Although it's their marriage, my brothers and i were bombarded with question like "got girlfriend liao" "when getting married" "cannot be no girlfriend wat" "next marriage is going to be one of the brothers la". Wa it's like chinese new year, these questions kept haunting my brothers and me during family gatherings -_-'''.

Anyway prayed that God bless their marriage and their child. Getting home was smooth sailing but with a little hiccup on the singapore custom due to the emigration office. Well not everything in singapore is always the best but i still prefer singapore over malaysia.

Missed today's first day of 40 days of purpose at church (i meant the 1st day of purpose driven life book reading with the church) but did the reading on my own. Anyway if anyone is interested come join this campaign, you can still join in. If you haven found your purpose to life, do join in to have a look. Anyway whats 40 days to you when theres still many many more days of your life to do other things. Heres a challenge to ya.

Cramp

Have not been in here for quite a few days, well it's the first week of school there's loads of stuff to do, notes to print and make up lesson due to national day to attend. Anyway didnt take up much of my time really. It's actually quite a fast week due to the nation's birthday in the middle of the week. Well i guess national day is another holiday that people can make use of to do something that they themselves would want to do beside work. But really we need to think back how Singapore from a small fishing village transformed into a metropolis full of high rise buildings and vibrant night-life. Maybe it's because of a documentry that i watched about Singapore's history that made me thought of how fortunate we are in this generation.

By the way to kick off national day, went to kallang to play soccer at "the cage" and it was not the normal soccer we played during the day. This time our game started from 12am to 3am and it's crazy to play soccer at such an odd time. Well the game almost ended with haft of the 19 people involved injuring themselves including me. Yup towards the end of the game, someone hooked my ankle which made me fell to the ground thereby causing my left leg to cramp and the pain was unbearable.

Anyway during the game i could really see how people really contradict themselves. It's really funny when your opponent starts to play rough during the game and you starts to also play abit rough, so the opponent starts to say unpleasant stuff like "are you here to play soccer or asking for a fight". Well the contradicting part were them starting to play like they are out to get your legs and still got the guts to say other's of unsportmanship plays. I wonder whats going on in their mind, anyway it's only a friendly game of soccer and it's not the world cup finals or anything.

After the game, reached my home at 4:30am and i was sleeping outside my house. So sad the front door was locked and i could not get in. Had to sleep at the staircase till 5:30am, then my brother manage to heard the house phone ringing to open the door for me. Really had to thank God if not had to spent the night outside. Well the pain on my legs were still there, could not walk properly for the whole day. So decided to spend my national day at home in front of the tv, to watch NDP 2007 live on channel 8. Anyway the best present that i gave to my country this year would be my ORD hahaha (ORD jus last saturday).

A whole new Semester

Today's the starts of the new life of mugging for my bright future next time when i step into the world of being a working professional. Well guess that i need to start eating, sleeping and shitting with my textbook always with me. Going to school actually beats going to army cause atleast in school i get to see real girls over the confused identity in found in my previous unit.Had new plans for this new semester, aimed to do better this sem than the crappy last sem. Hope that i get good tutors and group mates.

Anyway started lesson at 9:30am and to my surprise saw albert in my lecture. Hahaha his actually taking the same modules as me, have to say ntu is really small. I ended the day at 2:15pm cause my lab project incharge didnt came today so the whole group decided to go to the library to find rescources for the projects(am sure we did it). Yup the day started and ended well today, so i went to the gym after lessons then had a swim in the pool. Am like so tired now, well tomorrow no lesson anyway cause no tutorials on the first week.

New semester starts and also a new beginning and also a new chance. Dont it reminds you of the new life that Jesus gave when our sins was exchange for the chance that we maybe be closer to God. Facing closer to Him when the day He called us to go to His eternal kingdom.

Liberation

As you all know it today is the day that liberation set eyes upon me, yup i got back my pink ic plus a sticker to paste on the back of my 11b that declares that am a nsmen. It felt really long to actually wait for that moment that finally am liberated from the restriction which binds me from doing what i want. Anyway what's the meaning of ORD, to many it means freedom and end of army. But ORD is actually not the end but a beginning of a new chapter of my book. A chapter of facing the harsh reality of life, well people always say army definitely trains boys to become men. But i think it's more like a stepping stone that gives you a taste of how life would be outside of army.

Went back to camp in the morning to collect my precious(pink ic), the wait for my clearance was about 4 hours. Had to wait for the officers to finish their meeting before i could get the clearance signature from the overall in charge of my unit. The wait was long but i need to thank God for that cause i forgot to bring my house key. So even if i could get myself out of camp early i would still had to wait for my mom to get home first. Anyway during the wait at camp, did catching up with people that's not going to ORD yet. It was fun joking around for 1 last time, basically the jokes revolves around the topic of ORD. Ya it felt GREAT that finally i completed my service, i got my ic back and was given a certificate of service. By the way my conduct was very good and performance was outstanding (thats what it's written in that cert).

Had dinner with bert and ben, dinner was great and went starbucks to relac one corner. Had great fellowship, talked about loads of stuff. So whats liberation from temptations, wow thats hard to avoid. Temptations that tries to lead you off from the christian walk, the effects sometimes makes you think that your not worthy of God grace. But then again if we are so unworthy then why God sent his only son to exchange for our sins and why God forgives sinners that done stuffs thats like more sinful. But then again temptations always knocks on your doors when your alone, trying to sell their stuff that's better than what God's offering eternally. Well i guess prayers can help liberate from temptation or otherwise talk about it to people who will be a listening ear. Few more minutes to official ORD and hello to the exclusive ORD club.

Am going to see Pink

Overwhelm with the excitement that am going to get my pink ic which am forced to surrender, i mean whats the point of detaining someone's ic when his serving the nation. When you want someone to serve the nation whole-heartedly, why is there a need to detain that person's ic dont you trust him. Well it's a stupid idea to me, if they are so afraid of people running off to another country to hide. Why dont they keep the passports instead of the ic?

Well anyway tomorrow is the day that i get back my identity of a civilian and the sticker that shows i completed my 2 year 2 months of conscription to the nation(i think it's the best gift to the country's birthday hahahaha). If you say it's impossible to serve army in the happy go lucky atitude, i need to correct ya coz if your in the military band life there is always good.

Now am having a mixed feeling of getting out of my unit asap and at the same time the wonderful memories i had with my close buddies that i got to know. Well it kind of sad that eventually everyone got to part ways, cause there a saying "there no such thing as a endless banquet". Anyway am not the last of my batch to leave the band there's still nizam, hahahaha didnt see him at ORD function anyway wish him all the best in there. By the way i officially ORD on the 4th of Augest but will be getting my pink ic on the 3rd.

Am sure today i tried something stupid, went for a swim from 4pm to 5:30pm and after the swim went for a jog. Am like super tired now and my muscles aching but am not sleepy must be the excitement of liberation coming. Had been going to the pool thinking of getting myself "chao da" (getting a tan), well today was the only day i really felt that the UV ray barbecuing my skin. Cant wait for morning to come 2 more days to ORD!!!
